SYBREED Preparing To Enter Studio
February 24, 2009Switzerland's futuristic metal band SYBREED is prearing to enter the studio to record the folow-up to 2007's "Antares", tentatively due later this year via Listenable Records. The vocals and the drums will be laid down at the SDF studios in Lausanne, while the guitar and bass will be tracked at the Drone studio in Geneve. All the recordings should be finished by the end of April. The CD will be mixed in May by no other than Rhys Fulber (FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY, FEAR FACTORY, PARADISE LOST).
Commented the band: "The new record will have more groove, be a lot heavier, technical and definitely darker than 'Antares'. From a musical point of view, it's a mixture of new wave, industrial rock and extreme metal, a mixture we baptized ourselves as 'death wave,' which stands for being very aggressive and melodic at the same time. We have taken our influences from our first two albums and added a lot more new elements, to spice everything up to the next level. In any case, you can expect nothing less but a very professional and personal album that will derail many conceptions of what people call metal, or even modern metal."
SYBREED released its second album, "Antares", in the U.S. on August 15, 2008 via Koch Records. The U.S. version of the CD includes a previously unreleased song called "Plasmaterial" as a bonus track, which is "our way to beg your pardon for having taken so much time to unleash this LP on the American soil," says the group.
"Antares" was released in Europe in October 2007 via Listenable Records. The CD, which was previously described by the band as "the red pulsing noise celebrating the fall from grace, the loss of hope and innocence, and our own human nature confronted to eternity," features a guest appearance on drums by Dirk Verbeuren (SOILWORK, SCARVE).
